Precision Wide Web Slitter

Precision Wide Web Slitter

Progressive-Ruesch Machine Co., Inc., introduces the Model 177 slitter designed specifically for mill and warehouse duty. This unit features a heavy housing structure and substantial arbor bearing construction. As a result, the Model 177 is capable of producing slit width tolerances much closer than other machines of similar size.

The substantial inboard housing is permanently attached and dowelled to the sub-base. The swing-away outboard housing rides on an air cushion for changing the cutter set up. When loading and unloading cutters and spacers the operator simply removes the arbor nuts, loosens the two housing bolts and pulls the outboard housing away from the arbors and table key.

The 177 is also available with a ...
Heavy Duty Center Driven Payoff

Heavy Duty Center Driven Payoff

Progressive-Ruesch Machine Company's Model 247 is a flexible unwinding system designed for the smooth payoff of pre-slit master coils or any number of similar pancake coils (mults). Typically the Model 247 is mounted on linear ways to facilitate side to side motion either for the purpose of tracking to maintain coil orientation or to step position when paying off mults.

This versatile uncoiler is available with several drum options to accommodate a variety of package configurations. Options include a variety of coated drum surfaces, filler plates for multiple coil I.D.s, and side support flanges.

The uncoiler is available various drive options which are determined by customer requirements and can be used at speed ...
Scrap Winder

Scrap Winder

Progressive-Ruesch Machine Company introduces the Model 254 Traverse Scrap Winding Machine for metal strip. This model is capable of matching line speed to 1000 FPM (as determined by the prime mover) on a 16" ID and will facilitate scrap bundles up to 36" in diameter with a maximum face width of 12", Maximum package weight is 500 pounds. This model incorporates a removable flange with a tapered hairpin drum to facilitate bundle removal to either a customer supplied pallet or container.

The Model 254 is also available with an optional hydraulically operated tailstock that can be initiated by an operator when the drum is full. When the slide and flange retract, the scrap bundle simply falls off the tapered hairpin drum and rolls down ...
Linear Over Arm Separator

Linear Over Arm Separator

Progressive-Ruesch Machine Company introduces the Model 260 Linear Elevating Over Arm Separator to maintain consistent position between strip and over arm tooling throughout the coil build-up. The Model 260e was specifically designed for use in core slip winding and in particular with our Sliptech core slip rewinding system (U.S. Patent #5,292,084).

The Model 260 is a separately floor mounted, free standing unit that incorporates a sonic coil diameter sensing device. This sensor actuates the hydraulic directional control valve thus elevating the strip pass line and separator roll tooling to maintain guiding geometry as the O.D. of the coil increases.

This eliminates tension that would otherwise be created by strip surface ...
Elevating Tension Stand

Elevating Tension Stand

(2)
Progressive-Ruesch Machine Company ’s elevating tension stands are separately floor-mounted units designed to guide and uniformly tension each slit strip while rewinding. Tension is introduced either by way of pinch roll in the case of the 295 or through a covered wiper type arrangement on the 296 style.

The 295 style offers pinch rolls that can be pressure adjusted to control tension and can be provided with a variety of coverings to configure the machine for particular product needs.

The 296 utilizes an air bladder type pressure pad to reduce the possibility of marking the material as opposed to the rigid beam manually or air cylinder actuated tension stands. The amount of air pressure required for the desired strip ...
Strip-Turn-Ender

Strip-Turn-Ender

This unique, low cost coil handling aid is a simply hung manipulator that allows an operator to remove heavy coils, reposition, and off load with minimal effort. Consequently, downtime is minimized, safety is maintained and operator satisfaction is increased.

The simple 4-Step unload process is as follows:
1. Secure coil with hand tightening knobs to the Strip-Turn-Ender from turnstile or winder.
2. Effortlessly down-end the coil from a vertical to horizontal position.
3. Use your overhead crane to position the Strip-Turn-Ender for unloading.
4. Down-Ending complete! Unfasten the coil from the Strip-Turn-Ender.
